Forever. There are no moving parts or components to replace, clean, or service. Due to vibration we do recommend that you do a periodic inspection of the fuel lines and the fittings for tightness and leaks.
How do you install a Diesel Tex Fuel Enhancer?
The DTX unit is intended for installation between the fuel tank and the primary filter, or between the main storage tank and the centrifuge. The DTX may be installed vertically, horizontally, or angular. It should be installed on the input side of the filter in a fixed position such as, directly mounted on the filter. The use of brackets or straps is permitted. Engine manufacturers recommended specifications should be adhered to when using connectors and fuel line of appropriate diameter, material, and quality.
It is very important that the DTX unit is installed using a fuel resistant sealant to all connectors. Our recommendation is to use a pliable, non-hardening DIESEL FUEL RESISTANT paste or gasket forming sealant on your fittings. When a Teflon tape is used we advise you to verify that it is resistant to diesel fuel and oil.
How long does it take to install a DTX unit?
After you have determined where the DTX is going to be installed and have the proper fittings it can be installed within 30 minutes.
When can I expect results?
You should see results immediately. You will not see optimal efficiency until the fuel has sufficient time to circulate.
Why do I see an increase in smoke shortly (approximately 20 hours) after the unit is installed?
The smoke is the unburned fuel deposits in the combustion chamber burning off. Don’t be alarmed. This will return to normal after 10 to 20 hours of running your engine.
Why should I install before the filters?
As the diesel fuel goes through the DTX the particles are broken down as they flow through the magnetic cyclonification field. This will help the filter last longer.
Can I use a DTX fuel enhancer on an iron tank?
No. Iron tanks deteriorate and cause loose particles of iron. This iron is captured by the unit and will restrict flow (the unit is a permanently sealed unit and can not be cleaned).
How many units do you need?
Generally you need one per engine and generator.
Aren’t all magnetic fuel conditioners or savers alike?
No. Other fuel conditioners and savers do work. Ours works more efficiently due to the amount of time that the fuel is in the magnetic field and with our magnetic cyclonification system.
Which unit would be correct for my application?
There are so many different diesel engines and applications that we suggest you contact us by using the contact page. We will discuss with you the HP and flow rate of your engine to properly fit you with the correct DTX unit.
What types of fittings should I use?
Engine manufacturer specifications should be adhered to when using connectors and fuel line of appropriate diameter, material, and quality. Diesel Tex recommends that you have a professional install your unit. But, it maybe installed by a knowledgeable-do-it yourself person. We suggest you use a hose barb fitting or equivalent fuel line fitting.
